Researchers have developed dissolving microneedle patches that deliver living “biofertiliser” straight into plant tissue. In greenhouse tests, Choy Sum and Kale grew faster — by shoot biomass, leaf area and height — while using over 15 per cent less biofertiliser than standard soil inoculation.
Research
A research team from the Department of Food Science and Technology (FST) at the NUS Faculty of Science set out to enhance the taste of a hardy, climate-resilient plant known as Ceratonia siliqua (carob), making it a more appealing and sustainable alternative to cocoa.
NUS has reaffirmed and deepened its strategic partnership with DSO National Laboratories to strengthen Singapore’s deep-tech talent pipeline, and train PhD researchers over the next five years.
Faculty, staff, students and alumni of NUS Law, along with their families and friends, gathered at its current home on Bukit Timah Campus, or BTC as it is fondly known, to honour the cherished memories ahead of its move back to Kent Ridge Campus in January 2026.
